St John's College, Oxford

St John's College is one of the most academically successful colleges of Oxford. It attracts students from a broad rage of backgrounds and enjoys stimulating, lively and supportive atmosphere. It is exceptionally popular college for graduates who make up about forty percent of the student community.

The college encourages interaction between graduates and full-time academics. It also encourages independent of academic supervision, the College Advisor system and fosters close links with the Senior Common Room. The Tutor for Graduates are responsible for overseeing the wellbeing of the students, hosts regular SCR/MCR events throughout the year comprising subject dinner, lecture suppers and drinks parties. The college is situated centrally and very near to the Bodleian and Taylor Institution libraries, the Science Area and the Mathematics Institute.

MCR

The college has an active Middle Common Room (MCR) committee, which organizes a broad range of social and intellectual activities for graduate students comprising excursions, guest night dinners, video nights and bops. The MCR is situated in a modern building that includes a television room, a computer room, kitchen, games room and large function space where many events are held. The enthusiasm of the MCR committee, the organizational skills and the international nature of the graduate community makes sure that new members are made to feel at home.
