A degree course in history is well designed and modified with the purpose of providing high standard education. The course incorporates theories as well as practical exercises. Some special papers allow students to work with different source materials such as art, music, cartoons, coins and other visual images. At the end of the part, students need to take five three-hours written papers. A one-year part second students need to appear for five papers unless they write a dissertation.

The part second long essay and dissertation and the part first themes and sources long essay make sure that students have the opportunity to be evaluated on work done outside the exam hall. Each student is paid special attention by the teachers. They make sure that students get thorough understanding of the subject.

Course Flexibility

The University of Cambridge offers the flexibility of the history course. The part second options are shared with faculties such as Classics, Psychology and Sociology and Politics. Some of the students wish to move out after the part first. History of Art and Law are favourite subjects among those who do transfer. Approximately, ten individuals each year take a two-year part second in history, generally, after a one-year part first in subjects like Economics or Psychology and Sociology.
