One-Year Programme in Screenwriting
Whistling Woods International offers a one-year programme in screenwriting. The programme focuses on Feature Film Screenwriting. Students are given training by regular faculty as well as the guest faculty. The guest faculty includes prominent personalities from the film industry.
Students will be required to participate in five sessions. Each session consists of three hours. In both the semesters, there are total 15 hours in a week. There is a sample week as well, which includes:
- 1-2 workshops on their work
- 0-1 Guest Lectures
- One session of theory lectures
- One session of book analysis
- One session of script analysis
In case students are not present at the film school during the prescribed weeks, they need to maintain strict deadline for completing their writing assignment. Every student is required to submit his or her assignment before or on the last date of submission.
After completing 40 weeks programme, every student shall come out with two pitches containing two pages each, a complete feature film screenplay and one treatment note of about seven pages.
The first semester consists of about 35 hours of basic training. The other disciplines include editing, direction, production, cinematography, acting and sound. The remaining semester will be dedicated to important instruction in Screenwriting. Here, students shall finalize a basis for a story and present a fifteen-page treatment for a screenplay.
Every student needs to start second semester with revised draft of a fifteen-page treatment which he/she has worked on during the period of one-month break. The second semester mainly focuses on various drafts of the sept-outline into complete screenplay.

Anjum Rajabali is a notable screenwriter. He wrote his first film Drohkaal along with the famous director Govind Nihalani in 1992. He has also written The Legend of Bhagat Singh and Ghulam. Anjum Rajabali has tremendous experience in the film and television industry. He has contributed to a TV channel as a Commissioning Editor. He founded and headed the department of script of iDream Production for two years. He has been a consultant and script doctor to various famous films including Gangaajal, Apaharan and Khakee. Anjum Rajabali designed the one-year course in Screenplay Writing at FTII in 2004. Anjum is an alumnus of UCLA's online Professional Programme in Screenwriting. He finished Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Pune.

Students should possess graduate degree and attain 21 years of age at the time of admission. It must be noted that work experience is necessary for admission to this course.
