MBA in Media and Entertainment

Whistling Woods International in association with Manipal University offers Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Media and Entertainment. The course offers an opportunity to those who wish to carve their career in the field of film and television.

The duration of MBA is two years. Students can do specialization in New & Interactive Media, Film, Broadcasting and Event Management. The first year of the MBA programme is to be conducted at Manipal University Campus, Bangalore. In first year, students are taught subjects including Media Case Studies and General Management Subjects.

The second year programme is to be conducted at Whistling Woods Campus at Film City in Mumbai. The second year programme includes hands on training where students are given practical exercises. The second year consists of process of filmmaking, radio, actual production & post-production, television and other segments of the film and television industry. The syllabus break up of a two-year MBA is given below.

Students must possess a graduate degree for admission to MBA in Media and Entertainment programme. Candidates, who wish to take admission, are required to submit a 'Statement of Purpose' with the application form. It is strictly prohibited to write his/her name on the Statement of Purpose. To ensure transparency and impartiality, all the applications are evaluated namelessly with no visible name or personal details. It must be noted that the name should appear only on the application form.

The prospectus and application form can be downloaded from the institute's website. The application form must be filled in properly. The duly completed form should be sent to the Bangalore centre. The form must be attached with the following documents.

  2. Statement of Purpose

Students ought to send the demand draft of Rs. 1, 000 in favour of Manipal University Learning (P) Limited payable at Bangalore.


Students, who are short-listed, shall be invited to appear for the personal interview at the designated center. Students who are proficient in English and possess computer knowledge will be eligible to appear for the interview.
