Subhash Ghai is the founder and Chairperson of Whistling Woods International. He also established Mukta Arts Private Ltd in 1982, which is a leading production house in the country. Ghai is the chairperson and managing director of Mukta Arts Pvt. Ltd. He holds many positions including the Advisory of IDBI Bank Film Financing, member of NASSCOM, FICCI and Chairperson of the National Entertainment Committee of CII. Ghai is a member of the Executive Committee of Producers Guild of India and a Director in United Producers Forum.
Ghai was born in Nagpur and graduated in cinema from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune. He started his career in films as a screen actor. Later on, he has moved to screenplay writing and got his first directorial debut film Kalicharan. The film won many awards and was a blockbuster of its time. Ghai never looked back after releasing Kalicharan and went on producing blockbusters.
Subhash Ghai is one of the best filmmakers in the Indian film industry. He has directed 17 feature films. Out of his total films, 14 have been super hits.
