                     Sewage- Sewage is the liquid waste product from homes, hospitals, laboratories etc.

                     Oil Spills- Oil spills is the spillage of oil into the sea.

                     Biological Magnification- The phenomenon of concentration of harmful substances inside the body is called biological magnification.

                     Plankton- Planktons are forms of marine organic life that gather vital energy for life through photosynthesis.

                     Aerobic- Aerobic is 'oxygen requiring'.

                     Acid Rain- Sulphur dioxide and nitrous oxides released from industries and automobile exhausts combine with rain water in air to form acid water called acid rain.

                     Pollutants- Substances that cause pollution are called pollutants.

                     Non-Degradable Pollutants- Pollutants that are not biologically degradable are called non-degradable pollutants.

                     Degradable Pollutants- Pollutants that are biologically degradable are called degradable pollutants.

                     Radioactive Pollutants- Nuclear explosion, nuclear testing and testing of nuclear weapons reproduces radioactive substances called radioactive pollutants. E.g. strontium-90.
