Students who wish to enroll for courses including cinematography, editing, direction and screenplay need to have graduated in any discipline from a recognized university. Students who wish to take admission to Audiography programme are required to have graduated in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent with Physics as a subject in 10+2 standard.
Applicants should apply for the course in prescribed format. The form can be obtained from the concerned department of the institute. Students must make sure that the form is filled in all respects. Incomplete forms will not be accepted. The application form should reach before or on the last date of submission. Forms received after the last date will be rejected. The application form must be sent along with a crossed Demand Draft for Rs. 1, 500 drawn in favour of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, payable at Kolkata.

Applicants should make sure that the form must be accompanied with one recent photograph of 3cm x 2.5 cm seized and stuck on the provided space in the application form. Applications also attach five stamp-size photographs with the form written his/her name on the reverse side of each photo. Applicants should send other documents including educational qualification certificate (attested copy). It must be noted that the applicants who fall under reserved category like OBC/ST/SC need to attach a notarized copy of reserved category certificate. If they do not submit it, then he/she will be treated as non-reserved category candidate.

- Fill in the form properly
- Send the duly completed application form to above-mentioned university address
It must be noted that the remittance for the prospectus and application form will be accepted only in the specified form. No application will be valid without the remittance. If a candidate, after his/her selection for a course, is found employed then they are required to produce 'No Objection' certificate from their respective employer at the time of admission. In case, any candidate is found ineligible after his/her selection, their admission will be cancelled without informing them and no complain will be taken into consideration in this regard.
