RGNUL - Extra-Curricular Activities
The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law organizes various extra-curricular activities. The intention behind arranging these activities is to create sorority in the university. The Tree Plantation Camp was held in 2007 at RGNUL with the help of prominent social worker Col Bishan Dass and his organization All India Human Rights Association. In this plantation camp, students are advised to keep the environment pollution free. They have also been made aware of importance of trees and their role in protecting our life. The other members of All India Human Association have also addressed the students to keep environment pollution free. In this camp, plants of various flowers were planted by dignitaries.
RGNUL has successfully organized one day National Seminar on 'Family Law: Problems and Perspective' in the month of September. This seminar was being inaugurated by Chief Guest of Honour, Honorable Mr. Justice Ashok Bhan, Judge, Supreme Court of India. Mr. Bhan is a Visitor of the RGNUL. The seminar was chaired by Sardar Parkash Singh Badal, Honorable Chief Minister, Punjab. The chief guest of the seminar was Honorable Mr. Justice Arijit Pasayat, Judge, Supreme Court of India. The other prominent dignitaries were:
- Hon'ble Mr. Justice Vijender Jain, Chief Justice, Punjab and Haryana High Court and Chancellor of RGNUL
- Hon'ble Mr. Justice M.M. Kumar
- Hon'ble Mr. Justice Rajive Bhalla, Judges, Punjab and Haryana High Court and Members of the General Council of the RGNUL
The university has also organized Talk Show and Poster Making Competition. The University Health Center (UHC) in collaboration with The Center for Advanced Study in International Humanitarian Law (CASH) under sponsorship of the RGNUL organized the above said activities. The programmes were organized to mark the World AIDS Day on December 1, 2007. An interactive session was held and students have participated enthusiastically to discuss various problems and quires on AIDS. Students express their views and perspective on the problems they come across.
The Medical officials of the RGNUL have familiarized the students with internalities relating to the syndrome of AIDS. This information on AIDS facilitated students to prevent a destructive disease. One more seminar on Consumer Protection and Awareness was being organized by the Patiala Consumers and Telephone Subscribers Forum. This programme was sponsored by RGNUL.
