RGNUL - Eligibility Criteria
Admission to the B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) five-year integrated course is purely based on candidates' performance in Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). The CLAT is organized by The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore. Candidates who wish to take this entrance exam need to fulfill following eligibility criteria.
- Candidates must have passed 10+2 exam of the Punjab School Education Board or its equivalent with at least 50 % in aggregate.
- Candidates must not exceed 21 years of age at the time of admission. However, there is age relaxation up to 22 years for the candidates who belong to SC/ST category.
- Candidates who are appearing for the qualifying exam or awaiting result of the qualifying exam may also appear for the CLAT. Nonetheless, their admission will be provisional and subject to produce required documents at the time interview to prove having passed the qualifying exam.
It must be noted that the candidates who do not clear the qualifying exam with required marks and also failing to produce results at the time of interview will have their candidature cancelled. Also, candidates who get compartment/re-appear in any of the subject in the qualifying exam shall also be cancelled and consequent obtained marks in the qualifying exam will not be taken into consideration.
The total number of seats for admission to B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) a five-year integrated course will be 80. The break up of seats is given as follows.

Candidates who are applying in the SC/ST category need to submit required document from the competent authority. Persons with Disability are required to submit at least 35 % disability certificate from Medical Authority of Government Hospital. The candidates who belong to Punjab Resident Category are needed to submit an affidavit and certificate as per Punjab Government amended vide Punjab Govt. Department of Personnel and Administrative Reform. As for the seat in the category of Resident of Village Sidhuwal, Dist. Patiala the candidates must have ancestral origin village Sidhuwal. In case his/her parents have migrated to settle in village Sidhuwal or are a resident of any colony which is in the village, shall not be considered in the category as a resident of village Sidhuwal with ancestral origin.
Candidates who fall under Foreign National's will get direct admission on the basis of his/her merit of the qualifying exam. Incidentally, they also need to appear for the interview to make certain his/her competency in English Language and overall academic record. These students should apply directly to the Registrar for the admission.
Candidates need to produce certificate in original on the date of interview. Every candidate is required to submit admission form which is available in the RGNUL prospects. The application form must be sent along with attested copies of the required documents to the university address.
