PAF - Exam Pattern

The candidate's performance in the situation test, written exam, group discussion and interview will be assessed in order to give them ranking. The admission for many courses is purely made only on the basis of merit.

Undergraduate Courses

• Test for FRM and FMP

  The candidates are required to appear for General Proficiency Test to get admission to Fashion Retail Merchandising (FRM), Fashion Merchandising and Production (FMP) courses. The test is of 60 minutes duration and its objective is to check candidates' knowledge in English Language (that is their fluency and accuracy in it), logic and Mathematics etc. If the candidates have qualified the exam he/she will be called for subsequent screening test which comprises of group discussion following personal interview.

• Tests for TD, FD, JD, CD

  The candidates are needed to appear for the Design Aptitude Test (DAT) besides General Proficiency Test for the admission to Bachelor Degree in Textile Design, Communication Design, Fashion Design and Jewellery Design. The Design Aptitude Test mainly aims to assess candidates' skill in illustration, color, perception, visualization, drawing etc,

  Postgraduate Courses

  Test for GM, FM and FR

  The candidates are required to appear for General Proficiency Test (GPT) to get admission into Diploma in Garment Manufacturing, Diploma in Fashion Merchandising and Diploma in Fashion Retail. However, the candidates who qualified any AIMA-MAT test which was held one year back to the date of PAF entrance exam and scored minimum 400 M are not needed to appear for GPT. For more information the candidates are advised to go through the Declaration Form. The candidates who have qualified GPT and AIMA-MAT will be called for subsequent screening test comprising of Group Discussion following personal interview.

  Tests for TDHF and FDIW

  Besides GPT, the candidates are required to appear for Design Aptitude Test (DAT) for admission into Diploma in Textile Design Home Fashion, and Diploma in Fashion Design Indian Wear. The AIMA-MAT applicants are exempted from appearing for the GPT, nevertheless, they need to appear for DAT.

  The candidates who have qualified GPT/AIMA-MAT and DAT will be called for Situational Test following the personal interview.
