Every student from NUJS feels of graduating from the university. NUJS alumni teach, practice and even continue their study across the world. To everyone's surprise, within five years, NUJS alumni have made their mark every where in the field of law. Students of NUJS have studied further on well-regarded scholarships like the Fulbright Scholarship, Rhodes Scholarship, Chevening Scholarship and Felix Scholarship at the most excellent law schools in the world including Cornell Law School, Harvard Law School, University of Chicago Law School and Oxford University Law School.
Students of NUJS have branched out into many practice areas including human rights law, corporate law, trade law, marine law, international law, etc. Most of NUJS alumni have accepted the paramount Indian and international law firms at the same time as others have joined think tanks and research group such as Tata Energy Research Institute and the Human Rights Law Networks.
NUJS alumni are the most preferred faculties and are invited from renowned law schools across the country. They have enthusiastically pursued academics and they teach around the world in top law universities such as Singapore Management University. Besides, some of the alumni have clerked with judges at the Supreme Court of India whilst some have been practicing successfully in many Supreme Court and High Court of India. NUJS Seminars and Workshops
NUJS in conjunction with United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) India organized a workshop on WTO dispute settlement in the month of November 2009. NUJS has organized a workshop for students, An Introduction to WTO Dispute Settlement, with the purpose of becoming conversant with WTO dispute settlement mechanism. As it is part of exercise, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India in collaboration with UNCTAD has undertaken and intended to develop strategies and awareness for trade and globalization in India.
A candidate who wishes to participate in the above said workshop must be student of law from any institution in the state of West Bengal. NUJS is inviting applications from interested students from the 3rd, 4th, and 5th years to take part in the workshop. The expert from UNCTAD Geneva and India will conduct the sessions.
