NLIU - National Law Institute University Entrance Examination
National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal was founded by the RastriyaVidhi Sansthan Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam in 1997, enacted by Madhya Pradesh State Legislature. The university is recognized by Bar Council of India. It's fully residential university along with contemporary facilities. Every year the university admits only 82 undergraduates. NLIU offers legal courses such as B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) and LL.M.
NLIU has been ranked third by the India Today rankings of law colleges in India. The benefactor of the university is the Honorable Chief Justice of India and the university is associated with the High Court of Madhya Pradesh and neighbouring National Judicial Academy.
The objective of university is to provide quality education in the field of law. It also believes in tying together the forte of students by means of providing them all required facilities and services to meet their professional requirements. The university will leave no stone unturned in providing students with amenities in this recognized law university. Furthermore, the university boasts of an art library and computer center which are in the form of Gyan Madir (temple of knowledge).
The National Law Institute University has trimester system along with interdisciplinary teaching of Computer Application, Social Sciences, Language Skills, and Law Subjects. There are optional semester courses too. They are offered in the fifth year such as Disability Law, Space Law, Water Law, Health Law, etc.
Eligibility Criteria for B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Prorgrmme
- Candidates must have passed 10+2 exam or equivalent in any discipline and must obtain at least 50 % marks in aggregate in the grand total of all paper excluding additional papers in the same exam. However, candidates who fall under reserved category such as SC/ST or OBC need to obtain at least 45 % in aggregate excluding additional papers in the 10+2 exam.
- Candidates should not be more than 20 years of age at the time of admission. Nonetheless, there is relaxation in age up to 2 years for SC/ST and OBC category candidates.
Reservations
Since NLIU admits only 82 students to its law courses, there is reservation as per the Government for those who come under reserved category. Out of total 82 seats, 41 seats are for residence of Madhya Pradesh and remaining 41 seats are open to all candidates. The above mentioned seats are to be filled through the Common Law Admission Test only. Break up of reserved seats is mentioned as below.
