NLIU - Eligibility Criteria for LL.M. Programme
- It's mandatory for every candidate to have passed the LL.B. Degree or equivalent from any recognized university with at least 55 % marks in aggregate. However, candidates who come under reserved category like ST/SC and OBC need to obtain minimum 50 % marks in aggregate.
The break up of reservation is as mentioned below.

There are reserved seats for candidates who have five years of work experience in Human Rights Organization.
National Law Institute University offers LL.M. courses in:
- Environmental Law
- Criminal Law
- Business Law
- Constitution & Administrative Law
The courses as mentioned above will be offered as per the availability of the faculty and the number of seats in each of the above areas. The university reserves all rights and will determine availability of these seats at the time of admission. There are other courses too like LL.M. in Human Rights and LL.M. in Law, Science & Technology.
Domicile Requirement for LL.M. Programme
Candidates must be citizen of India; he/she must have been educated in an educational institute which is situated in MP for minimum three successive years during the five year right away preceding years in which admission is required.
Candidates must be bonafide resident of MP according to explanation given below. Or
He/she is son or daughter of:
A central govt. employee comprising employee of defense establishment, employee of post & telegraph dept. and the railways or an employee of public sector undertaking posted stationed in MP on or before 1st January 1999 and continues be posted till the year in which admission is sought. Or
A person in MP under any scheme of resettlement which is approved by the Govt. of India or the Govt. of State. Or
A pensioner or an employee of the Govt. of MP or an employee of the Govt. of MP who has died while in service of this state or an offline of the All India Services from MP. Cadre.
