GDPD – Graduate Diploma Programme in Design

Eligibility: The candidates who have passed 10+2 or appearing for that or equivalent like IB/AISSCE/ICSE. The age limit for open category candidate is 20 years and relaxable by 3 years for ST/SC candidates at the time of admission.

GDPD is undergraduate programme of 4 years offered in the three faculties given below

PGDPD – Postgraduate Diploma Programme in Design

Eligibility Criteria: The candidates are required to check the eligibility criteria that are mentioned against each discipline. Candidates can apply maximum two programmes. Separate application forms should be sent for applying more than one programme. The age limit for open category candidate is 27 years and relaxable by 3 years for ST/SC candidates at the time of admission. The candidates who have work experience will be preferred. The general candidates with related work experience will be considered and there is age relaxation up to 3 years for them.

PGDPD Programme of 2 to 2½ years is offered under the five faculties. The specialization in the specific area is made available as given below.

IT Integrated Design

• Software & User Interface Design
  Eligibility Criteria: B.Arch, Applied Psychology, B.Tech. (Ele.), BE (Computer Science), BFA, Accessory Design with relevant work experience.

• New Media Design
  Eligibility Criteria: Applied arts, BIT, Visual Communication, BSc. Computer Science, B.F.A, B.Tech, B.Arch, Mass Media, BCA (Knowledge of Graphic Tools, Authoring & Scripting must)

• Information & Digital Design
  Eligibility Criteria: B.I.T, B.Tech, B.E. (CS), B.Arch, Applied Arts, BCA, Mass Media, BFA (Painting/Visual Communication), BIT, BSc (Statistics/Computer Science/Maths), Cognitive Psychology with relevant work experience (Knowledge of Graphic Tools and Scripting must)

Industrial Design

• Furniture & Interior Design
  Eligibility Criteria: B.Tech, B.Arch Interior Design B.E. (Civil Engg.)

• Product Design
  Eligibility Criteria: B.Tech, B.Arch. B.E. ( Mechatronics /Mech.)

• Ceramic & Glass Design
  Eligibility Criteria: B.Arch, B.F.A. Ceramic & Glass Design/Technology, Graduates in any disciplines with experience in Glass & Ceramic related fields.

• Transportation & Automobile Design
  Eligibility Criteria: B.Tech, B.E( Mechanical, Automobile, Mechatronics), B.Arch, Product Design from well Design School/Institutes in India and/or Abroad

• Toy Design & Development
  Eligibility Criteria: B.Tech, B.E, BCA, BIT, BFA, B.Arch, Interior Design, Applied Arts, Child development, Therapy or Graduates with experience in related areas.

Communication Design

• Graphic Design
  Eligibility Criteria: Interior Design, Applied Arts, B.F.A, B.Arch., Graduates with experience in Graphic Design (GD).

• Animation Film Design
  Eligibility Criteria: Applied Arts, B.F.A., Design, Communication Media Film & TV, B.Arch., Mass Media, Graduates with experience in Animation Industry

• Film & Video Communication
  Eligibility Criteria: Arts, Humanities, Visual Communication, Mass Media or Graduates in any stream with allied work experience.

Textile and Apparel Design

• Textile Design
  Eligibility Criteria: Applied Arts, B.F.A., Textile, Textile, Fashion Design, Handloom Technology, Knitwear, Home Science with Clothing & Textile.

• Apparel Design & Merchandising
  Eligibility Criteria: Applied Arts, B.F.A., Knitwear, Textile, Fashion Design or Graduates in Merchandising or any other streams and well-versed in drawing and garment presentation /construction.

• Lifestyle Accessory Design
  Eligibility Criteria: Applied Arts, B.F.A., Design, Interior Design, B.Arch, Accessory Design and related disciplines in Engineering/Technology.

Design Management

• Strategic Design Management
  Eligibility Criteria: 3 years Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from any recognized Institute, Humanities, Technology, Science or a Four-year Degree in Engineering, etc. with work experience of at least 2 years in a Design or Design allied organization.
