NALSAR - Eligibility Criteria

Five-year Integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.)

The candidates must have passed the 10+2/Higher Secondary School or its equivalent qualification which must be recognized by the University with minimum 50 % marks in aggregate. Candidate should not be more than 20 years of age of the year of admission. However, there is age relaxation up to 22 years for ST/SC candidates and 25 years for persons with disability.

The candidates who are waiting for their result of qualifying exam can also apply. However, their admission will be provisional and subject to producing proof of qualifying exam with prescribed marks at the time of interview. The merit of candidates will be purely based on their performance in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).

Master of Law (LL.M.)

To appear for the test the candidates are required to have passed LL.B. /B.L. Degree or an equivalent degree that must be from a recognized University with at least 55 % marks in aggregate.

The candidates who are waiting for result of qualifying exam can also apply for the test. However, their admission will be provisional and subject to producing proof of qualifying exam with prescribed marks at the time of interview.

Master of Philosophy (M.Phil)

To appear for the test the candidates are required to have an LL.M. Degree from NALSAR or equivalent from any recognized university with minimum 55 % marks in aggregate or B+ grade or its equivalent.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

The eligibility criteria for Ph.D. are given below.

The candidates should have Masterís Degree in Law from any recognized university with minimum 55 % marks or its equivalent in grade. Or

The candidates should have obtained Masterís Degree in Law from any recognized university with at least 50 % marks or its equivalent in grade and must have 5 years full time teaching/judicial/administrative/professional experience in the subject in a recognized University/College. Or

The candidates should have obtained a Degree in Law and M.Phil in Social Science or Humanities or Science of any recognized University with minimum 55 % marks or its equivalent in grade or Ph.D. in any discipline. Or

The candidates should have obtained a Degree in Law and M.Phil in Social Sciences or Humanities or Sciences from any recognized university with minimum 50 % marks and must have minimum five years full time teaching/professional/administrative/judicial experience in the subject in a recognized College/University.

Proximate Education

To get admission to Postgraduate Diploma in Cyber Laws, Patents Law or Media Law the candidates are needed to possess Bachelorís Degree from any recognized university or an equivalent Degree.

To get admission to Postgraduate Diploma in International Humanitarian Laws the candidates are required to have a Bachelorís Degree from a recognized University or equivalent qualification along with the minimum of two years experience.
