NALSAR – Admission and Course Information
Candidates who are seeking admission to the first year of the five-year B.A.LL.B (Hons.) Degree course are need to pass with prescribed marks in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). The admission will be given only on the basis of merit in CLAT.
There are total 80 seats available for the LL.B. course and out of it 70 seats will be filled on the basis of merit in Common Law Admission Test. There is reservation in these 70 seats like, 15 % for SC candidates, 30 % for women candidates, 7.5 % for ST candidates and 3 % for Person with Disability. However, 10 % seats will be allotted to the candidates who do not possess Indian Citizenship that means Foreign Nationals.
The foreign candidates do not need to appear for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for admission to B.A. LL.B. and LL.M. programmes. They will get admission on the basis of his/her performance in the qualifying exam, their proficiency in English and overall academic record. All the foreign candidates should directly apply to the Registrar, NALSAR, Hyderabad. They should apply with the prescribed application form and necessary documents.
The admission to M.Phil. is fully based on the performance of the candidates in interview and the research proposal presented by him/her to the Admission Committee which is constituted by the Vice-Chancellor.
The university offers PhD programme in two ways, full-time PhD and part-time PhD. To register for full time PhD, the candidates are required to spend at least two years of which 18 months will be in the university. The candidates should complete their research work and submit it for evaluation in three years duration.
The time duration for part-time PhD candidate is of 5 years. They need to complete their respective research work and submit it for evaluation within given time. It should be noted that the enrollment to be considered failed after a period of 5 years for part-time candidates and 3 years for full-time candidates.
The candidates can obtain the prospectus and application form from the coordinator by submitting Demand Draft for necessary amount. The course duration is of one academic year.
The candidates can obtain the prospectus and application form for LL.M. and 5 years LL.B. (Hons.) from post by sending a Demand Draft for the necessary amount to the address prescribed by the University. To obtain the prospectus and application form for LL.B. programme the candidates pay the necessary fee at the main branches of Indian Bank at selected centres.
