Placements and Internships
Journalism Mentor (JM) makes sure that students undergo a complete two months training at renowned media institutions in various parts of the country. The institute has a placement cell. The responsibility of the cell is to invite media organizations to recruit students. The placement cell includes Aloke Thakore and Shishir Joshi who facilitate students to appear for the interview. They guide and help students aspiring to get employment in the field of journalism. In March 2010, Mid-course internships are conducted at:

The programme has twenty-five seats for students from across India. The purpose behind the limited number of seats is to provide every student individual attention. Each student is paid special attention by the faculty. The programme helps students to meet the requisite selection criteria of media industry.
Early admission is a facility made available to the students who wish to secure their admission. These students do not need to worry about applying later. Early admission ensures students their admission at JM. Unlike in other institutes where students are unable to secure a seat. It must be noted that early admission does not mean not competing with students who apply later for regular schedule.
Journalism Mentor Foundation of Excellence in Journalism is affiliated to member of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. The institute employs best teaching practices. Any institution does not recognize journalism Mentor. This facilitates the institute to keep the curriculum flexible and introduce new teaching methods. Who should apply?
Students who completed graduation from any discipline and who want to make a career in journalism should apply. It is observed by some mentors that students who are remarkably talented and hardworking may not perform well in the exam due to some reasons. These students show their potential if they are properly guided. The institute helps every student equally.
Students are not allowed to re-take the exam as per our exam system. A number of students whose career are ruined due to the education system. Journalism Mentor does not have any entrance exam for admission to the course.
Do I need to know English?
Knowing English in not mandatory, however, it is helpful in the field of journalism. Students who are fluent in any of the Indian languages can take admission. Students ought to be good at any one language they would like to report. Students lacking at English skills shall not be looked down. Students learn English, as there are many mentors fluent in at least two-three languages.
