Students aspiring for admission into journalism course need to apply in the prescribed application format. Students need to appear for an interview after pre-selection. Students will be pre-informed about the date of interview and designated centre. The application packet/form includes:
- A completed Application Form
- Students need to submit a five-hundred-word autobiography
- Students need to submit a five-hundred-word article explaining why he/she wants to become a journalist.
- The application fees Rs. 500 in form of Draft to be drawn in favour of JM Foundation for Excellence in Journalism.
The application form can be downloaded from the institute website. Applicants should fill in the form properly. It must be noted that the form to be filled in all respects. Incomplete form or form filled in with wrong/insufficient information will be rejected. The duly completed form should be sent to the address given below. The application form to be accompanied with four components of the application packet.

Students are required to submit autobiography that should consist of atleast 500 words. Students aspiring to pursue a career in Indian language media, can submit autobiography in any of the Indian languages preferred by students.
Students need to submit a five-hundred-word statement that explains why they want to become journalists. It also explicates reasons what made them to choose a career in the field of journalism. Students may submit their statement in Indian language of his/her choice if they want to pursue a career in Indian language media.
Students need to submit photocopies of all the certificates of academics. These photocopies must be self-attested. In case, if photocopies are found to be false at the time of admission, his/her admission will stay cancelled and the applicant is under the act of deceit. Therefore, students must ensure that they do not submit false documents.
Application Processing Fee
The application-processing fee is Rs. 500. The fee must be in form of pay order/bank draft in favour of 'Journalism Mentor'. The application form should be accompanied with fee and relevant documents. Students must make sure that the form is filled properly. The duly filled in form must be sent to the institute address. The form must reach before or on the last date of admission. Application forms received after the prescribed date will not be taken into consideration and complaint will not be entertained.
Students need to appear for interview for admission to the programme. In the interview, students will be assessed based on their general knowledge, general knowledge, verbal skills, basic mathematical and the most essential of their autobiographies. Their autobiography is evaluated to ensure that whether it reflect his/her personality. The interview round is very important in the admission process.
