JGLS - MOUs with Law Firms

Jindal Global Law School has signed the Memoranda of Understanding with prominent law firms to help students to get internship and placement in future. JGLS is the first law school of O.P. Jindal Global University that has planned to start classes in the month of September 2009 in NCR Delhi, Sonipat and Haryana. JGLS admissions are open for the academic year of 2009-10. The law school offers a five-year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) degree programme and a three-year LL.B. degree programme. The Bar Council of India has recognized both O.P. Jindal Global University and Jindal Global Law School.

Professor C. Raj Kumar, JGU Vice-Chancellor, has pronounced that Jindal Global Law School has entered into an MoU with Luthra and Luthra, Amarchand Mangaldas, Foxmandal Little and AZB & Partners. In the coming year, students of JGLS will have a better and prosperous future as the law school has signed a MoU with the leading organizations. JGLS will soon have firm lawyers who will join to deliver lectures and conduct joint seminars. Professor C. Raj Kumar expects that every JGLS students will get advantage from internship and career advice programme. Further, Prof. Kumar adds that JGLS's alliance with other leading law firms will be beneficial for students to hone their basic law skills, fulfill their needs and get excellent employment right after completing their respective law degrees.

JGLS put its all efforts in placing students at renowned law organizations. As regards to career development plan, the law school has founded a Career Development and Placement Division as to facilitate students by means of providing ample range of issues involving career planning, internship intended for practical training and campus interview. Besides sturdy relationship with law firms in the country, JGLS has an association of lawyers engaged in international law practice overseas.

The JGLS has a New York based association as a Committee of International Lawyers. The committee includes practicing lawyers from prominent law firms which are dedicated to providing the law school with global representatives on rising legal issues. Competitions for law scholarship and fellowship are being introduced by JGLS for students who Join Jindal Global Law School in 2009-10 academic year. There are various scholarships launched by JGLS including:

  • The O.P. Jindal Outstanding Merit Scholarship (includes Rs. One Lakh to students who topped in LSAT-India admissions test).
  • The Naveen Jindal Young Global Scholarship (includes Rs. Five Lakhs to future global leaders for men and women).
  • The Shallu Jindal Outstanding Women Scholarships (includes Rs. Two Lakhs to exceptional women as to encourage entry into the law field).
