JGLS - Courses and Curriculum
O.P. Jindal Global University is founded by the Haryana Private Universities at Sonipat, Haryana. It is a non-profit university. Bar Council of India has recognized both JGU and JGLS. Jindal Global Law School has commenced its first academic session of the JGLS in September
JGLS offers a three-year LL.B. (Hons.) and a five-year B.A.LLB. (Hons.) Degree programmes. The academic committee of the Jindal Global Law School shall be responsible in designing additional degree programmes as it is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and Bar Council of India (BCI). The degree programme can be included:
- Master of Laws (LL.M.)
- Juris Doctor (J.D.)
- Doctor of Juridical Sciences (S.J.D.)
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Besides degree programme, Jindal Global Law School shall also develop training courses for paralegals, teachers and various other occupations.
JGLS - Curriculum
The syllabus of Jindal Global Law School covers almost all subjects which come under legal education. It includes all the pedagogic improvement in the field of law. JGLS offers students a curriculum of incomparable span of subjects that consists of obligatory courses designed by Bar Council of India. There are more than one hundred elective papers for student to choose. Clinical papers and student seminars are also available there.
JGLS has designed syllabus in a way that students have an opportunity to hone their basic law skills which are very necessary in their respective field. Jindal Law Clinic offers an arena for its students to enhance their law skills and increase their knowledge about diverse area of law. This will surely help students to build their future in a better way. JGLS students are given assignment of independent writing projects through the academic session. This assignment is, normally, judged by scholar faculty. The student-initiated seminar is designed with the purpose of engaging students in realm of writing and preparing the course syllabus and proposal.
Jindal Global Law School has a Human Resource Department. The objective of the department is to provide resources, infrastructure and incentives. This is done in order to support the law school's basic mission to impart international education. The HR department tries to keep enthusiastic work environment so that everyone will give their best. Human Resource is one of inseparable parts of JGLS.
