ILS - Awards and Prizes
Indian Law Society awards various prizes to students for their outstanding performance throughout the year. The prizes are meant to encourage students to perform well. There are various awards for various categories mentioned as follows.
This award is given to students who have excellent performance throughout the academic year. These prizes are awarded to the student who is studying in the final year of LLB programme. Generally, these prizes are awarded in the second term of the academic year. The students should submit the applications in the prescribed form including required information about the activities.
- The excellent performance during the whole course
There are two awards for the LLB final year students as given below.
First, The Atur Foundation Best Students is awarded to the student who is in the final year of LLB course and pronounced as being the best student of the college by the faculty consensus on basis of his/her performance in both, the curricular and extra-curricular activities in the academic year.

- The Late Shri Balkrishna Nagesh Shrotri Prize
Second, The Late Shri Balkrishna Nagesh Shrotri Prize is awarded to the student who is in the last year of the LLB programme and regarded as best outgoing student of the college by the faculty on the basis of his/her performance in curricular and all other activities of the college during the whole academic year.
There are a number of prizes for the outstanding performance. The list of awards can be given as follow.
The above said prizes are awarded to students for different activities. The Sathe Prize is awarded for the excellent performance in legal-aid activity. The Raghavendra Phadnis is awarded to the students for excellent performance in:
- Dr. S.P. Sathe Prize
- Raghavendra Phadnis Prizes
- Late Shri Narayan Vishnu Joshi Prize
- Shri Gaghunath Vishwanath Thakar Prize
- Ichalkaranji Sports Prize
Similarly, Late Shri Narayan Vishnu Joshi Prize is awarded to a student for best performance in a moot-court competition. Shri Raghunath Vishwanath Thakar Prize is awarded to the student who has performed best in the Education Competition. Finally, Ichalkaranji Sports Prize is awarded to a student who has shown outstanding performance in sports. The above mentioned prizes are meant to encourage the students to develop their personality.
