HNLU - Admission Procedure
Admission to The BA.LLB. (Hons.) programme is strictly based on merit in the National Entrance Test conducted by the university. The candidates need to qualify the entrance exam for admission. The test for BA.LLB. course comprises 150 marks, of which the candidates are required to obtain at least 50 % of the total marks for admission to the course. The entrance test is designed with the purpose of assessing:
- Analytical ability
- Mathematical aptitude
- Aptitude for learning law
- Linguistic ability
- Level of quantum of information
- Legal reasoning
The admission committee may also add some preliminary psychological ability test if they feel the need. If two candidates have obtained the same marks in the entrance test for admission to the above courses, then priority will be to the percentage obtained in the 12th standard exam. If, yet again, both the students have same percentage in the 12th standard then priority will be given to the percentage of 10th standard. if they have equal percentage in 10th standard then the senior candidate among them will get the admission based on the date of birth as mentioned in the certificate of marks in 10th standard.
Candidates who are appearing for the qualifying exam can also take the test. However, their admission will be provisional and subject to producing the required documents to prove their eligibility. If the candidates fail to submit the required document, then his/her admission will be cancelled.
The candidates must have completed LL.B/BA.LLB. (Hons.) degree or equivalent from any recognized university with at least 55 % marks in aggregate. There are total 10 seats and out of it 2 seats reserved for SC category candidates and 1 seats for ST candidate. The eligible candidates must apply with the required documents before or on the last date which is prescribed by the authority. They can obtain the application form from the Registrar by sending a Demand Draft for the requisite amount drawn in favour of the Registrar, Hidayatullah National Law University, Chhattisgarh. The admission committee which comprises the Vice-Chancellor will assess the candidate based on his/her performance in the interview and then get them selected for admission to LLM. course.
