GLC - Career Opportunities
The Government Law College provides an employment opportunity to its students. Every year the college organizes a Placement Week. The objective of this placement week is to recruit adequate candidates to law firms. It is, possibly, the first law colleges in India to recruit its students through campus interview.
The college offers hand-on training where students can take internship assignment on their own accord with many counsels, advocates and legal firms in Mumbai. The college has given lots of outstanding professionals to the country. Students from the GLC are to be known very clever at legal action. After completing law, many students practice law in India as well as abroad.
Special Activities :
Every year there is an event like Chagla Lecture Series. This series is organized by the Students Council. In this programme, various well-known judges and lawyers are invited to talk on diverse law based topics. This gives an opportunity for students to widen their knowledge in the area of law. This facilitates students to become aware of the current scenario of law.
Every year, GLC organizes a National Level Moot Court Competition which is called D.M. Harish Memorial Moot court competition. This is a well-known moot court in India. The GLC invites the most famous mooting teams from all over the country to participate in this moot competition. The MCA and D.M. Harish committee play a crucial role in organizing the esteemed moot programme. In addition to this, the Government Law College looks forward to arrange the moot court competition at an international level to give an opportunity to its students to perform worldwide.
The GLC also organizes Inauguration Day. On this occasion, some great personalities are invited in order to address the students and staff. Every year the programme Model United Nations Conference is being organized by the college students. In this programme, registered participants play the role of diplomats of many countries and come up with viewpoints of their own nations. This event challenges studentsí potentials as they have to debate on diverse contemporary international issues. It helps students to sharp their debating skill as it is one of the essential skills in their respective profession. Government Law College celebrates the Annual Day at the end of the academic year.
