Animation and Special Effects in Films
The emergence of digital technology makes Films and Television programmes fabricated by employing special effects. Special effects and animation are inseparable parts on any good movie based on science fiction. Digital Academy initiates teaching advanced technology used to create special effects. Every good director requires to be well versed in special effects and animation technology.
Traditionally speaking, special effects are divided in two categories, mechanical effects and optical effects. Both are equally important for any creative project. Digital Academy teaches both genres of technology. The aim of teaching technology is to give enough information about how to use animation effectively. The knowledge of animation helps students to encompass their imagination into a gigantic prospect of a film. The film school provides information on animation and special effects thoroughly. Every students of this course is required to take practical exercise on:
- Three Characters, Three Zones, Single Space Exercise
- Two Characters, Two Zones, Single Space Exercise
- Two Characters in movement in a Single Space
- Mise-en-Scene with Four Characters
- Mise-en-Scene with Three Characters
- Three moving characters, moving camera in a single space and multiple zones
- Four Moving Characters
- Mise-en-Scene with Two Characters
- Four Characters, Basic Mise-en-Scene Exercise, Multiple Zones
- The Final Project
Exercises on Analytic Dramatic Continuity
Three Characters, Three Zones, Single Space Exercise
In this exercise, students are taught complexity of three animation characters and how to use them effectively in a film. Students are taught about these three characters only after teaching two characters. The third character forms a third spatial sector and make difficult the matter of eye line matching.
Two Characters, Two Zones, Single Space Exercise
Digital Academy teaches students how to use camera in a proper and separate angle of the matching space. Students are given information on how to keep relational continuity through making eye line matches. Digital Academy gives practical on how to maintain physical continuity by following the law of 1800 axis.
Two Characters in movement in a Single Space
Students are given exercise on how to produce perfect continuity with two stirring characters in one space. These two character move through multiple zones too. Further, Relational continuity problems become problematical
Four Characters, Multiple Zones, Basic Mise-en-Scene Exercise
Digital Academy teaches students the use 3600 space using various space zones without causing temporal disorientation and spatial. In this practical exercise, students are taught the law of changing angles and changing magnifications.
Four Moving Characters
This exercise is the same as three moving characters, moving camera in a single space and multiple zones. The only one difference is that it uses four characters. The challenges like shot breakdown and creative complexity are therefore increased.
Three moving characters, moving camera in a single space and multiple zones
In this exercise, students are taught basics of managing character movement and camera movement. Digital Academy offers practical exercise on floor plans and storyboarding. Students are taught the significance of retention of continuity along with repeat action shooting in the 3600 arc of space. The above said exercise is done with the aim of producing suitable shot breakdown.
