Chennai Film School equips students with placement assistance. Students are given on the job training, certification and placement assistance. It is mandatory for every student to go for training at the end of the course. Students have an excellent opportunity to get training in their relevant area of specialization.
For One-year Course
The Directorate of Employment and Training, Government of Tamilnadu will award students with the certificate. Students have an excellent opportunity to get a government job by registering their certificate in the employment office. They can get the jobs in Govt. Departments including:
- Press - News Paper
- Crime Branch of Police
- Educational Institutions
India is the biggest producer of films across the world. Therefore, enormous job opportunities are available. After completing the course, students can get into the film and television industry. Today, the emergence of television channels broadened the realm of mass media. Thus, one can get good job with high remuneration easily. Presently, there are approximately 134 broadcasting networks available in India.
The practitioners in this field predict that the media industry requires over one and half lakh skilled professionals to serve in coming years. The film school organizes campus interview where prominent media organizations like press media, satellite channels, film production houses, etc. are invited to recruit students. Students will get good placement, however, the film school does not give job guarantee. Students are placed under well-known film personalities including:

Students can obtain the application form from the film school by paying requisite amount to the concerned department. Students must ensure that the duly completed application form should reach before or on the last date of submission.
There are no academic eligibility criteria as such. Candidates who are above 14 years of age at the time of admission can apply for the course.
For One-year Course (Govt. Certificate & Exam)
Students who completed degree/diploma are preferred. The minimum educational qualification for one-year course is SSLC qualified or equivalent. It must be noted that the students should be proficient in English language with respect to reading, writing and above all good communication skills. The medium of instruction is Tamil and English.
Chennai Film School reserves few seats for students falling under backward category. The seats are reserved as per the Backward Class Welfare Department, the Tamilnadu Govt. scheme. The scheme aims at providing free education to the reserved category candidates comprising of MBC, BC and DNC students.
The characteristics of this scheme are that the Govt. of Tamilnadu provides full course fee for reserve category candidates. The Tamilnadu Government BC Department and the Institution offers a course completion certificate.
The film school has limited seats. Students have to produce following documents at the time of interview.
- HSC mark sheet
- Community certificate
- Transfer certificate
- Residence proof/ratio card
- Income certificate
- All original certificates with passport size recent photographs
- Attested photocopies of all the original documents
