Students are given special training in film cameras such as Mitchell and Arriflex. Every student has to take part in his or her practical exercises to become eligible for certificate exam. A short film, 'Thalir' has won third prize in Melbourne Film Festival, Australia. The film was about the girl, Easwari who seeks to become educated in her town. Another short film, 'Thuli' has won third prize in Melbourne Film Festival, Australia. The story was about the importance of rainwater harvesting for everyone.
Chennai Film School students participated in Film Art Festival. The festival was organized by INPR. Students won second prize for photography and third prize for short film. The film school is one the best options for making a career in film and television industry.
