BHU – Banaras Hindu University
Banaras Hindu University is one of the recognized universities in India. It is located in the holy city, Varanasi. The university was founded in 1916 by the great nationalist leader, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya. BHU was established under the Parliamentary Legislation – B.H.U. Act – 1915. The university conducts an entrance exam for the admission into MBBS course into two stages, PMT Screening and PMT main.
The candidates must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent exam in Physics, English, Chemistry and Biology (Botany + Zoology) taken together with at least 50 % marks in aggregate for MBBS/BAMS/BDS/B.Pharm. (Ay.) Programmes. However, the candidates belonging to ST/SC/OBC category need to obtain minimum 40 % marks in aggregate.
For B.Pharm programme, the candidates are required to obtain 60 % marks in aggregate, SC/ST candidates are required to obtain 55 % marks. The candidates who are appearing for qualifying exam may also apply but they need to produce required documents to prove prescribed eligibility at the time of interview. The candidates must not be less than 17 and more than 25 years of age of the year of admission.
