Mr. Suresh K. Verma (Lecturer Radio Production)
Mr. Suresh Kumar Verma serves as faculty for Radio Production at Anwar Jamal Kidwai, Mass Communication Research Center, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. He has served for All India Radio for 15 years. He has played multiple roles there including presenter, producer, manager of programme, etc. Mr. Verma completed thorough training in many specialized fields including:
- Radio Management (R.T.I, Almore)
- Sports Commentary Management (A.I.R, Hyderabad)
- Script Writing and Outside Broadcasting (Staff Training Institute, New Delhi)
Before joining AJK MCRC, Mr. Verma worked in All India Radio as Programme Executive, where he produced more than six hundred radio features including script and research, discussion, interviews, talks and so on for broadcast on regional as well as national level. Mr. Verma auditioned and trained a number of presenters and announcers. He has good experience in anchoring many Children and Youth programmes. He also served as FM announcer.
Mr. Verma completed Masters in Mass Communication and Education and Economics. He has designed many research papers for National Seminars and Workshops. He has written several books and articles that are taught in post graduation in Mass Communication and PGDJMC in Kurukshetra University as well as Punjab University, Chandigarh. Apart from his writing works, he is a part of Jury in prominent Radio and Television Annual Awards. His contribution to the 'Development of Creativity in Children' has led the Governor of Haryana honour him. Mr. Verma contributed as a broadcaster to production, planning and presentation of programmes for Radio Jamia 90.0 FM. Mr. Verma teaches Linear and Non-linear editing at AJK MCRC.
Ms. Fathima N Mr. Verma (Lecturer Journalism)
Ms. Fathima N is an alumnus of Anwar Jamal Kidwai, Mass Communication Research Center. She joined the centre in March 2007 as a lecturer in Journalism Department. Having completed Master of Arts in Mass Communication in 2004, she contributed to the Pilot Team of Times Now, which was a joint venture of Reuters and Bennett and Coleman, India. After her endeavor at Times Now, Ms. Fathima worked as a freelancer on many video projects and installations.
Ms. Fathima has received Independent Research Fellowship from Sarai Centre for Developing Societies, ICSSR, Ministry of Human Resource Development. She has earned a reputation of a young documentary filmmaker in little span of time. She has produced three creative documentary films including:
- Living 'My' Religion
- The Making of Travails of a Rickshawala
- Beyond the So-called Veil
The documentary 'Living 'My' Religion' has fetched her Best Documentary Award at the FILCA Film Festival in 2006. She is firmly associated with editing and directing. Ms. Fathima is widely regarded as budding documentary filmmaker. She is one of the few who received popularity at her age.
