Entrance Test for Still Photography
Anwar Jamal Kidwai, Mass Communication Research Center offers a Postgraduate Diploma in Still Photography. Students who wish to take admission to the course need to clear the entrance exam. The list of short-listed candidates for written test and final interview will be posted on the website of the center. Students appearing for the personal interview need to produce a portfolio of their respective work. The break-up of marks for entrance exam is given below.
- Interview - 45 marks
- Written test - 200 marks
- Portfolio - 55 marks
The course in photography includes theoretical as well as practical exercises. Students are given special training in advanced cameras. The aim of the training sessions is to develop student's interest in photography. With the help of practical exercises, students learn fundamentals of still photography. The institute puts due emphasis on practical exercises.
The course in photography has four papers including:
- Paper - I Basics of Photography
- Paper - II Visual Studies: Debates and History on Representation and Contemporary Practices
- Paper - III Techniques in Photography
- Paper - IV Combined Practical for Paper I and III
