How to Apply
The prospectus and application form can be obtained in person by paying Rs. 100. The application form can also be obtained through post by sending a Demand Draft of Rs. 125, which is non-refundable. The DD should be drawn in favour of Anhad Institute of Media Studies payable at Srinagar from AIMS, 10 - Sona Manzil, Rajbagh, Srinagar-190 008. The application form can be downloaded from the institute website www.aimskashmir.org.
Students who download the application form from the institute website need to attach Demand Draft of Rs. 125 drawn at Anhad Institute of Media Studies, payable at Srinagar. Students must ensure that the form should be filled in properly without any mistakes. The duly completed form should be submitted in person or can be sent by post. Students must make sure that the form must reach before or on the last date of submission. Forms arrived after the prescribed date will not be accepted and no complaint shall be entertained.
The AIMS does not take any responsibility for any delay in non-receipt of application form/postal transit, information about interview and any other communication about admission.
The AIMS provides students accommodation however seats are limited. Students who are selected for the interview held at AIMS, Srinagar would get accommodation on first-come-first-serve-basis with nominal payment. Students who wish to take the accommodation need to convey his/her request to the AIMS administrator in advance. The documents mentioned below should be accompanied with the application form.
- Certificate of date of birth
- Mark-sheets of the exams passed
- Portfolio concerning his/her previous media related activities
- Recent passport size photographs on the application form
- Income certificate of both parents if looking for sponsorship/scholarship

Students will get caution money back after the completion of the course.
The institute will support students, who come under the economically weaker sections. Partial grants and scholarship would be awarded to deserving students. The decision of management in deciding student's selection will be final.
Students who fall under the reserved category like BPL (Below Poverty Line) and RBA (Rural Background Area) will be allocated five seats. Students need to pay total fees Rs. 50, 000 in two installments. The first installment of Rs. 25, 000 should be paid at the time of admission and the second by prescribed date in October. Students are required to submit the following documents at the time of admission.
- Ration Card/BPL certificate
- Income certificate
- For RBA, letter and certificate from Community Head
- For BPL, Authentication letter from Local Head/Numberdar
