International Women's Day

Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication organizes various programmes. The International Women's Day was celebrated on March 8, 2010. There was a special interactive session on 'Portrayal of Women in Media' with special reference to advertisement. Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication arranged this programme in association with Apeejay School of Management.

The chief guest was Ms.P.N.Vasanti, Director of the Centre for Media Studies, development communicator and renowned media researcher addressed the audience. In her presentation, she emphasized the unsteady view of women depicted in the Indian media. According to her, students of today shall become receptive to the negative impact of women in the Indian society.

Ms.Payal Kapoor of AIMC introduced this session. She talked on the negative depiction of women as well as girl child in advertisements. She laid emphasis on the need of developing sensitivity to media exposure. Her speech was revolved around the development of women. The students and faculty of both Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication and Apeejay School of Management attended this interactive session.

Photography Exhibition
Photography is certainly an art. One can master it by practice. Your photographs make you to go back in memory and give you pleasure and enthusiasm whenever you look at your photographs. Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication organizes annual photography exhibition with the intention of creating interest in students. This year, the annual photography exhibition was named 'Walk into The World of Expression', which was quite suitable to exhibited photographs.

Under the programme of 'Synergy Fest 2010', AIMC students organized annual photography exhibition. The exhibition was such a grand occasion where AIMC received a number of entries from various institutes of Delhi and NCR. In this exhibition, the photographs were creative and innovative with a new and enthusiastic approach. The themes of photographs were based on:

  • Child Labour
  • Life on Footpath
  • Tourism of India
  • Life of a dog
  • Classical Dance Portrayal
  • Handicrafts Industry
  • Emergence of Life portrayed through Pottery

Prof. Deepankar Chakrabarti Dean (ASM), Professor Ashok Ogra - Director AIMC and Dr. Alok Saklani, Director Apeejay School of Management (ASM) inaugurated the exhibition. The jury members were Ms. Jyoti Doval (Faculty ASM), Mrs. Esha Jainiti (Faculty AIMC) and Mr. Naveen Gautam (Faculty AIMC).

Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication tries to make every possible opportunity available to students. Every student participated in the photography exhibition enthusiastically. AIMC not only provides students theoretical subjects but also various activities.
