The school is run by BAME Trust. The Kotagiri Public School is a Christian, co-educational, Residential, English medium school imparting full, liberal and comprehensive education.
It is situated in a spacious campus amid a cluster of eucalyptus and acacia trees, overlooking the Mettupalayam valley, at an altitude of 6500 ft. The school campus at present covers over 15 acres of land, two kilometers out of the Kotagiri town, on the Kotagiri Coonoor road. Kotagiri enjoys a good climate. Teaching Staff The school has a highly competent, fully qualified and experienced staff. They have been given accommodation in the campus and they participate in all activities of the school, thus influencing the children far beyond the academics. Pupils The school is international in character. Children from different parts of India and the world study here. Affiliation The school prepares students for the All India Secondary School Examination and the All India Senior School Certificate Examination. The following enrichment courses are also available which are recognised by and affiliated to the Oxford Language Centre and London College of Management, U.K.
The annual fee details can be had from the school office. Registration Fee Rs. 3000/- Admission Applications for admission should be accompanied by a registration fee of Rs. 3000/- per head. On admission, a student is tested for the class indicated by the leaving certificate of the last school.
Scholarships are available for deserving pupils. Application for this should be made in the prescribed form available in the school office. Sports Physical education is compulsory for all students. All major games, including cricket, hockey, football, basketball and volleyball are played by the boys, while girls participate in basketball, shuttle badminton, kho-kho and volleyball. Indoor games such as table tennis, chess and draughts are available for rainy seasons. The school has facilities for learning swimming in an indoor heated swimming pool, the first of its kind in Nilgiris. Hikes, camps, field trips and study tours are organized regularly to enable the children to explore and learn by experience. Extra Curricular Activities The school fosters a high degree of competence in several co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Weekly debates, recitation, dramatics and quiz programmes are conducted on inter-house basis. The hobbies and work experiences available to children include philately, photography, coin collection, specimen collection, typing, needle craft, carpentry, repairing electrical gadgets, cookery, toy-making, painting, music, dancing, scouting, NCC (Air Wing) guiding and band.
