The school at Coonoor is the first of the Brindavan Public Schools, established in 1968 by the Bhaktavatsalam Educational Trust. The Trust was established in 1958 by Shri O.V.Alagesan as a tribute to Shri M.Bhaktavatsalam, a former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, on his 60th birthday. The other Brindavan Public Schools are located in Athur (founded 1975) and Kodaikanal (founded 1983).
School Campus
All the teachers in the school are fully qualified professionals in their field with plenty of experience. They are also people of integrity and substance. The classroom strength does not exceed 25 students, enabling the teachers to devote complete attention to each student.

Affiliation
The school is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi and the Board for Matriculation and Higher Secondary Education of Tamil Nadu. The school prepares students for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) examination at the end of class X. The syllabus followed at the +2 level is prepared by the Tamil Nadu State Board.
Admission
Children are admitted to all classes from Kindergarten to Standard XII. On payment of a Registration Fee of Rs 300/- the names of candidates will be entered in the waiting list. Children registered for admission are admitted on the number of vacancies available. The academic year commences in the month of June every year.
Sports
The games that are played in the school include cricket, football, hockey, basket ball, badminton, table tennis and gymnastics. Yoga, NCC and Karate are also a part of the curriculum.
Extra Curricular Activities
Students are encouraged to participate in debates, elocution, quizzes, dance, drama, painting, music, and outdoor activities like hiking and trekking.
