The Grihapravesam was performed on 30th June and academic activities commenced from 15th July, 1991. Col. H. K. L. Johar, a doyen of the Army Education corps (former Commandant, Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun ) was the founder Principal. The school is based on the residential system of education which combines in it, the best elements of the age old gurukul system and the modern requirements of education. It was re-christened as KCP Siddhartha Adarsh Residential Public School in 1994 in recognition of the contribution made by Dr. V. L. Dutt, Chairman and Managing Director of the KCP group of industries.
The campus is located between Auto Nagar and Kanuru village on a vast campus of 20 acres and is surrounded by tranquil lush green lawns in a sylvan setting about 8 Kms. from the din, dust and clamour of the Vijayawada city. The city is accessible by all modes of transport.
The school has separate hostels for boys and girls. The dormitories are conveniently designed for the students belonging to the junior, middle and senior classes with all modern amenities which provide a home like environment. Each dormitory is designed with the most hygenic layout, with separate areas for sleeping, change room, bath and toilet. Ground floor of the girls’ hostel houses the kitchen equipped with modern cooking gadgets, two dining halls which can cater to around 700 people at a time and a central hall for conducting cultural activities.
The professional competence of the staff has been periodically assessed and are provided in-house training from time to time by way of faculty meetings. Further they are encouraged to organize and attend seminars and workshops to improve the quality of teaching and to bring in innovative methods. Teaching is scientific and object oriented and is done more through interaction.
There are two senior masters who have been associated with the school since its inception. The school has a band of 36 enthusiastic and resourceful teachers who are credited with long standing achievements. They are well qualified and experienced in imparting education in tune with the changing methodologies of teaching and also competent to prepare teaching aids and apply modern technology to supplement the text. They are formed into faculty wise teams with separate staff rooms with a Faculty Head to assign and supervise the work.
The school is open to the children of resident and non-resident Indians. A certain orientation course is conducted for the children of NRI’s to adapt them to India. Each section of the class has 30 students to ensure close supervision, guidance and interaction between the teacher and the taught. The habit of reading books for information and enlightenment is encouraged at every stage among boys and girls
The school maintains a teacher student ratio of 1:10 right from its inception. The CBSE has granted affiliation to commence class XI with effect from the academic year 2002-2003 with English as core subject and Hindi, Telugu, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science as electives. Class XII will commence from 2003-2004.
The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi.

The registration form and application form along with prospectus are available at the office of the school on payment of Rs. 200/- by cash /DD in favour of the school. They are to be submitted along with the registration fee of Rs.250/-
The Registration for admission commences in Feb/March each year. Application form for admission should be completed and submitted along with fees and required documents (Date of birth, Transfer Certificate and the Progress Report from the previous school).
The Swimming Pool and the Squash Court are unique features of the school. The school also boasts of well laid out play grounds including a 400 metre track and ample facilities for games such as cricket, football, hockey, tennis, squash, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, throw ball, tennikoit etc.
The school provides a wide range of opportunities and facilities for learning out door and indoor games. The gymnasium is of international dimensions with two indoor courts for badminton and has complete equipment for students to maintain an agile body.
Many of them are awarded Merit Certificates by the CBSE in appreciation of their performance in the AISSE examinations.
The school records a 100 percent pass in all exams with a majority of students getting through with distinction marks.
Extra Curricular Activities
In addition, the school provides opportunities to students to have an insight into the understanding of Indian art, culture and literature through lecture cum demonstration programmes by professional artists or learned personalities. Students of the school participate in all prestigious competitions at state as well as national level and win a number of prizes and medals. They visit even other countries on cultural exchange programmes .
